"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." –ancient Greek proverb
Chic Chick, a family clothing and accessories boutique founded in 2008 in Rolla, Missouri, embraces this ancient philosophy. Chic Chick Owner Karen Jordan, mother of nine children, wants to reach out to all generations and show them that fashion is defined within themselves.
Chic Chick’s genesis began when Katia, the Jordan’s oldest daughter, was introduced to fashion design in high school through her teacher, Mrs. Jamie Cantrell. Katia was smitten with a “passion for fashion” and decided to pursue her dreams in fashion design by attending Missouri State University (MSU) in Springfield, Missouri. One of her requirements was to work in retail, so Katia’s father, John Jordan, encouraged her to open her own store. Chic Chick was born! After months of planning – and with help from the entire family – the boutique opened in June 2008.
Five of Jordan’s “miracles” are girls. She and her daughters love colors, fragrances, beauty and everything that has to do with the “girlie-girl” taste – which is reflected in every nook and cranny of Chic Chick.
On the corner of Highway 63 and County Road 7130 (just south of the Rolla city limits) Chic Chick sports a Rodeo Drive look without Beverly Hills prices. Formerly a ‘70s-era French provincial mansion, Jordan renovated the home into a niche for style! One step inside the front door and customers know they have entered an eye-candy emporium. Smiling faces from the helpful, knowledgeable staff, Christian music in the air, and rooms full of colorful, stylish clothing, accessories, luggage, purses and shoes greet everyone who enters the store. Jordan and the girls place a big emphasis on their signature color of pink … and femininity. The grand, winding staircase behind the front counter leads to four rooms on the second story, all full of Chic Chick goodies.
“God has given us an open door to reach our community,” Jordan states. “We also have the opportunity to pass on the economic blessings, so we try to keep our prices down. But we won’t compromise on style! We carry a store full of merchandise to help women to be cute, pretty and gorgeous!”
Chic Chick encourages women to enjoy being creative. “We want girls and women to have fun,” Jordan explains. “Have fun living, loving, shopping and looking the best they can!”
Jordan and the staff of Chic Chick appreciate the opportunity to help customers and encourage everyone to stop by and experience that special Chic Chick treatment! |
